Everyone has their special strong suit, but unfortunately life can bring many series’ of unpredictable challenges… *sigh* don’t we all wish the ultimate control was in our hands? While we shouldn’t focus on the things we can’t control, there are many other factors within our control that we sometimes overlook. Circumstances will prove again and again that a utopian experience where plans work exactly as expected, dreams come true like Disney movies, and life as we envision it is achievable boils down to one simple concept, balance. This is not as easy as it sounds, but we’re here for you! We’ve gathered helpful tips that can lead to mastering this concept not only in wedding planning, but all areas of life, even for the most overwhelmed brides.
It seems self explanatory, but balance can be the most challenging part of each day, especially in this new age of information; ideas are being shoved in our faces at an alarming rate that isn’t realistically retainable. Here’s a list of ways to narrow down your priorities in a way that will make you feel relaxed in the clouds, even with responsibilities.
1. Separate small goals and large goals: People can often envision the larger scheme, but anything worth having takes smaller, well thought out steps. Before you have a breakdown over all the work required for your master plan, think of ways to do a few daily tasks, and make a list of small goals. For example: 1. Walk in the morning. 2. Read favorite blog. 3. Drink 8 cups of water. Pretty soon, you’ll establish a better state of mind and a more productive lifestyle.
2. Journal: No one is exempt from emotions and sometimes we don’t give ourselves the best environment to process our internal world. Sometimes we just need to write it out, then the most amazing truths about what we were stressed over become clearer. Once we identify the truth, our alleged “problems” become less scary. If anything, a journal is something great to look back at years from now to realize your personal growth. You’ll want to look back on your writing during your wedding experience and to show your grandchildren!
3. Surround yourself with positivity and inspiration! : Don’t forget that this applies to the people you surround yourself with, too. The World can work in your favor if you set the right boundaries and work with your resources. This means that if something, some scenario, or somebody is not in alignment with your highest version of self, they must be removed from your life. This creates so much more space for rewarding things to enter your life - things that create balance.
4. Finally, make a gratitude mantra: Each morning, before grabbing your phone or stressing about your to do list, take time to say out loud all the things you are grateful for. Positive affirmations are a perfect start to the day. You can recite things like “ Today I’m grateful that I left that toxic part of my life, and met my fiance when I did” or “today I’m grateful that I have a home, somewhere to sleep, and someone who supports me in a time of need.” Life is all about perspective, and if you begin your day from that point of view, all other circumstances will follow suit. Why? Because you perceived it that way.
Make these things a constant priority in your life, and we promise you’ll feel like fear is imaginary, and every moment of life is worth living.
