Below we interviewed Suzanne, check out her answers below!!

What do you like best about your job?

"I love that my job doesn't actually feel like a job. I work 12 hour days, no lie, sometimes 7 days a week. My average week is about 95 hours. But every day I meet women that are so full of anticipation and expectations about the one thing they have been dreaming of their whole life......their wedding day! Who hasn't been dreaming of that special day when they marry their Prince Charming? That's what I do, I have propitiated to that happily ever after concept for over 40 years. I literally built my dream so you could have yours!"

What's one trend you're excited about?

"White. White is traditional, white is pure and absolutely amazing!"

What is your favorite accessory for brides?

"A Smile."

What's one thing you wish you knew before you started working here?

"That this was going to morph into an internet, review driven business that gives people with no confront a vehicle to be unkind. Well, you asked."

What do you love to do when you're not working?

"I have a whole life away from SBB. I have an amazingly talented husband who I have been with for 43 years and we have a band called "Two's Company". I have an equally amazing daughter and son in law, who both work in the movie industry, and I am blessed to have 2 wonderful grandbabies."

What's your best piece of advice for brides?

"Never let the sun set on your anger. My husband is my best friend and should be yours, too. We always eat dinner together no matter how late the hour because sometimes that all the time we have together."

Brooke Anderson + Brad Langford #RealSBBBride

3/27/2018

There are so many ways to meet your soulmate! These two met on the wonderful world of social media on Facebook!! They fell in love and Brooke says she knew Brad was the one, "because he is the nicest person I've ever met". Brad finally proposed in the alleyway of So Cal Tacos with all of their families watching.

Their wedding reception was at Villa Siena. All of their wedding photos are done by Annie Randall, and man they are STUNNING!! Brad absolutely loved her wedding gown and we are thrilled because that dress is BEAUTIFUL! But, over the whole wedding, Brooke's favorite memory was walking down the isle.

Something Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue

3/25/2018

Guest Blogger - Katie Jones from the wedding ring shop Orla James blog!
Weddings are always a fun and festive time for all family and friends. A marriage symbolizes an everlasting union of two souls destined to live together in happiness and bliss. The joy that follows the wedding preparation and planning is all part of the love that most couples share. Wedding traditions play a huge role in the planning process, and most brides like to carry some part of their family tradition with them as they venture into their new future with their partner.

History of the Tradition

The age-old English traditional poem of having ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’ is evergreen! Modern brides can learn a lot from olden times and incorporate these lucky charms into their weddings. Carrying these charms as you walk down the aisle is considered a symbol of fertility and luck. The old English poem also symbolizes good fortune for the lucky couple. Some people even believe that a bride is incomplete without these charms for luck.

Let us look at some ways in which modern brides can incorporate these charms into their weddings and carry on this lovely tradition with a trendy twist.

Something Old:

This is one of the most straightforward charms to consider while walking down the aisle. In earlier days, traditional brides would carry something that belonged to their family members like jewelry, a vintage comb, or a handkerchief. Modern brides have better options to choose from for their ‘something old.’ You can make a selection out of vintage cars that belong to family members, a locket containing photos of parents, a vintage necklace that belonged to your great-grandmother, and so on.

Some trendy brides even carry their family bible or their grandfather’s favorite piece of poetry as the cover of the floral bouquet. If you are against wearing jewelry that belonged to family members, you could opt to buy vintage pearls and have them woven into your gown to keep the tradition alive with a modern touch.

Something New:

Every bride wants to wear a new gown on her wedding day. The wedding dress could be your ‘something new’! Purchasing a new gown instead of wearing one belonging to your mother or grandmother could be an excellent way of incorporating this tradition into your wedding day. If you don’t like the idea of buying a new gown, you could alternately purchase some new jewelry instead. As a modern alternate to traditional materials like gold or silver, why not choose a rose gold wedding ring or even a new set of earrings or a string of pearls that compliment your wedding gown instead. Drop-down earrings from notable jewelry houses in pearls and diamonds are an incredible investment and can be used again.

Modern brides can take this charm a step forward and get a little naughty too! You could purchase new lingerie from your favorite brand and wear it underneath your gown so that your partner gets a surprise on your wedding night. Just because it is tradition does not mean you cannot have some healthy fun with it. Your ‘something new’ can be a private gift to the both of you.

Something Borrowed:

The ‘something borrowed’ is our favorite part of this tradition. Modern brides love the idea of borrowing their partner's name legally. You could opt for your new initials to be woven into your wedding veil as part of this tradition. Another fantastic idea for something borrowed would be to make a selection of comfortable sandals from your best friends’ shoe collection. Opt for a pair that suits your wedding dress and wear them in style.

Trendy and fashion forward brides also love the idea of borrowing designer shoes, clutches, and jewelry as part of their ‘something borrowed.’ You can hire a designer handbag, designer shoes, designer jewelry, and so on for a fee and return it after the wedding day. Your photographs will look stunning while keeping up with the traditional charms in a modern manner.

Something Blue:

You can keep up the charm of your wedding tradition with a modern blue table setting, blue cocktails, or blue serviettes. Fashionable brides also enjoy the stunning contrast that blue sapphire jewelry provides a white wedding gown. You can opt for a beautiful earrings and choker or necklace set in blue sapphires that can also be used later on for special occasions and functions.

Another fantastic way to keep the age-old tradition alive with a modern twist is to opt for blue peep-toe shoes with a few rhinestones. These look gorgeous while walking down the aisle and dancing at the reception. Colorful heels in a vivid blue always look stunning against a perfect white wedding gown. If you want to keep the blue on the down low, you could also wrap your wedding bouquet with a few blue ribbons to keep the tradition alive with a modern outlook.

Closed Stock - Bridal Shop

3/22/2018

What is a "closed stock" bridal shop?

"Closed stock" means that majority of our gowns are kept in holding. A trained stylist will pull dresses based on a bride's description of her dream wedding gown. SBB focuses on what the bride envisions for her wedding: the vide, the venue, colors, and strives to find the perfect gown for the day she has been dreaming of her entire life!

Why are we a closed stock shop?

When a bride sees a dress hanging in a bag, she immediately decides whether she loves or hates the gown. This can often lead the bride to miss out because, as we all know, a gown can look completely different on a body. Hangar appeal can be misleading. Trust our stylist to find your dream dress! THIS IS WHAT THEY'RE TRAINED TO DO; analyze your figure, listen to your likes, dislikes, and find a dress to fit your very special circumstance.

As an added plus, with Suzanne, anything is possible. Suzanne can customize your dress. Sometimes a dress doesn't have everything a bride wants but, can be brought to life with little imagination and Suzanne's sewing and design process. This process truly makes SBB unique. We also work one on one with designers who can customize a gown! Either way your wedding dress search doesn't end with a new search for a good seamstress, we HAVE SUZANNE!

Why we love a closed stock shop!

We LOVE being closed stock because we are able to cater our brides individually and build a relationship. 75% of our brides are referrals from our wealth of legacy brides. We love being able to cater to our brides individually and build new friendships. We give our all to each appointment by being totally engaged and listening for every detail to help our brides to say "yes"! It's not unusual to say "yes to the dress" on your first visit, 3 out of 4 brides do!

Come be our bride!

We understand that you want to bring all of your friends and family to your appointment, but we want your experience to be as stress free and enjoyable as possible. Let us do the hard work and you get to try on all the pretty dresses you desire! We promise you that you are NOT missing out on any of our gowns. Having too many options can sometimes complicate and confuse rather than help. We are also focused on keeping you on budget. The unkindest thing we can do is to make you fall in love with a dress that is out of budget. We welcome your visit and hope you will give us a try. We want you to be one of our 3 out of 4 brides that we serve to say YES to one of our beautiful gowns. We hope you will be our next Suzanne's bride!

Suzanne's Bridal Boutique - How we work!

3/22/2018

What we do -

We are here to walk with you through the process of finding a gown that you have been dreaming about. We have searched out for the best designers in a variety of price points for our brides. But we want to do even more than find you a designer wedding gown. At Suzanne's Bridal Boutique we will be working with you to create your complete bridal look and want to build an everlasting relationship.

How we work -

First, we will send you a confirmation email with a form attached. The form attached is a way our stylist can get an understanding of your envision of your whole wedding and dream dress. A quick phone call will be made to talk about more in-depth what you filled out in the form.

You then will work with your bridal stylist, their goal will be to have you walk away from your time with us having found YOUR dress! Since we are confident in finding your dream wedding gown you will be connecting with your stylist before your appointment. She will be doing her homework to have some ideas and things pulled for you before you even walk in, but also will go back to our closed-stock room to pull dresses based on what you have told her at the beginning of the appointment. That way when you come in for your appointment you can allow us to do all the hard work and all you have to do is try on pretty things until you find the gown that you LOVE.  We will then move on to completing your bridal look through wedding accessories and then bridal party attire. We offer belts, veils, hair pieces and bridal shoes!

What we believe -

We believe that just as every bride has a different personality, so does every wedding gown! Finding the perfect wedding dress for a bride is about finding that perfect match. Sometimes that comes through the wedding dress alone, sometimes that comes through customizing wedding dresses through alterations or accessories to make it uniquely yours!

We are passionate about what we do as we want you to be able to feel like your most confident you on your most important day. We believe that what you are wearing will be the ultimate statement. It’s also the one piece from your wedding that you can hold on to and look back on, share with future generations and see in images forever.
